A very warm welcome to Talking in Tune, a small charity with a big purpose. We create, support and promote singing and music making for everyone in our community.

About

Our charity exists because we know that singing has profound effects on individuals — on their physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being. On a larger scale singing bonds communities that already exist and can create new ones.

We aim to do this by:

  • Running singing groups for people with health challenges who may benefit significantly from singing
  • Organising singing workshops that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities
  • Supporting local organisations that contribute towards an inclusive music-making community

Our Groups

Memory Notes

Memory Notes, Singing for Heart and Soul and Memory, is a community of singers who are all affected by dementia: some are living with the condition, others in the group are carers and supporters.

Singing for Breathing

Singing for Breathing is for any adult living with breathlessness from Cambridge and the surrounding area. Sessions include guided relaxation, breath and voice exercises designed to help you breathe more effectively, and a range of enjoyable songs to sing together.

Workshops

Our community workshops are a wonderful chance to come and sing your heart out for a day. They are always led by the very best singing leaders who are all inspirational teachers as well as great musicians. Each workshop has a different emphasis — some focus on Soul, some on Gospel, others on songs from different cultures, but whatever the content of the day all our workshops are friendly welcoming, totally inclusive and terrific fun. The money raised from these workshops help us at Talking in Tune to continue our work for disadvantaged people within our community.

We’re looking for volunteers!

Interested in supporting people through the power of singing? We’d love to hear from you!
