Our Impact
Talking in Tune is a small musical charity based in Cambridge. We believe that singing has profound positive effects on individual wellbeing, helps to bond existing communities and creates new ones. Our mission is to make singing and music-making accessible to all members of the community.

In Numbers
Singing is having a moment. There are 42,000 choirs in the UK, and over two million of us regularly attend a group to sing. At Talking in Tune, we’ve been part of that story for over 20 years — and we reach the people most choirs don’t.
70+
People attending our regular specialist groups, Memory Notes and Singing for Breathing — many of whom would find it difficult or impossible to join a mainstream choir.
90%
Of Singing for Breathing participants agreed that attending sessions has helped with their breathing. (2026 survey)
93%
Of Memory Notes participants felt that singing with the group stimulated happy memories, while 80% said it helped them celebrate retained skills — and even nurture new ones. (2026 survey)

Singers come through our doors each year for our twice-yearly community singing workshops, led by acclaimed visiting musicians teaching songs in four-part harmony from around the world.
Annual Reports
Each year we publish an Annual Report setting out our activities, finances and the difference we’ve made. Read our recent reports below.
