Volunteer

Without our volunteers, Talking in Tune simply could not function. They are absolutely central to everything we do. We have a wonderful bunch of people who help us out in so many ways.

Could this be you?

Why volunteer?

People tell us that volunteering for Talking in Tune is a rich experience that adds to their lives. A volunteer with Singing for Breathing wrote to us:

Around 70 people attend our weekly singing groups throughout the year: most have health conditions that may prevent them from singing with a regular choir. Some have needs that require careful support, and our volunteers are skilled in identifying and providing this.

Our workshops are fantastic, feelgood events that enable local people to experience a wide range of musical cultures. We welcome volunteers to help make them a success.

We know from participants at our singing events, both regular groups and biannual workshops, how valuable attending these singing sessions is to them. Our volunteers are vital to making these events happen.

What’s the commitment?

Some people volunteer on a regular basis and others chip in sporadically; all are highly valued.

Volunteers play a crucial role at our regular singing groups, Memory Notes and Singing for Breathing; they welcome participants and connect with them while helping to run the session and join the singing.

Volunteers also contribute their expertise by advising us on our funding applications, designing flyers and other publicity materials; others help to run our singing workshops.

Occasionally we run a fundraising event, which requires many hands and skills.
